About the Waldheim
The Waldheim is a quiet and rustic vacation spot, located along the north shore of picturesque Big Moose Lake. The Waldheim's 300 acres are at the end of the road and adjacent to state wilderness land, leaving plenty of room for privacy, quiet, and play. Although meals are served on china and table linen, the atmosphere is restful and informal. The Waldheim is a place where families can be families.
The Waldheim's seventeen cottages range in size from one to five bedrooms. Each has a living room with a wood-burning fireplace or stove, one or more bathrooms, and a porch overlooking the lake.
Refrigerators are provided for snacks and ice. Cottages are cleaned daily and a woodboy starts a fire in each cottage early every morning and keeps porches stocked with wood. There are no telephones, televisions, clocks, or radios to interfere with your relaxation. However, we have free wifi located in our library, along with a free long-distance phone available.
The Waldheim has remained on the American Plan, which includes three full meals daily. Breakfast boasts many choices including the best pancakes in the Adirondacks served with real maple syrup. There are two choices of entrees for lunch and dinner served with homemade soups, breads, cakes, and pasteries. Picnic lunches can be prepared upon request.
